These images were compiled for 'Cripplegate: one of twenty-six wards in the City of London' by Sir John Baddeley, published in 1921. The artist Robert Randoll (1864-1952) was responsible for the 41 pen and ink drawings in the collection. The drawings show views in the Cripplegate Ward area of the City of London between 1914 and 1921 and so record the area prior to the extensive damage by bombing during the Second World War.
