The Film Collection comprises clips from various films held at LMA. They show different aspects of London life – its architecture, people, open spaces, housing, transport, leisure activities, street life and even civic administration. The film clips date from the 1920s to the 1980s and last between 3 seconds to a minute, they provide a fascinating insight into the historical, social and economic issues that tested centuries of urban life in the capital and which ultimately culminated in the London we know today. The full films can be seen on LMA’s YouTube channel.
