Description
View south from Golden Lane, City of London. The left turning at the crossroads is Beech Street, with Barbican (now also named Beech Street) to the right, beginning behind the public lavatories. The wrecked Anglia car is at the north end of Redcross Street which in turn ends at the church of St Giles Cripplegate visible on the left, and is deceptively foreshortened by the camera angle. The tower block at the far left is the 16-storey Lee House at 125 London Wall, which was completed 1962 and demolished in 1990 to be replaced by Alban Gate. Immediately to the right of St Giles Cripplegate in the distance is the Wood Street Telephone Exchange. The northern and western elevations of its complex H-shaped structure are visible here.
