This collection contains a selection of photographic prints of the London area from the mid nineteenth century onwards. It includes general street views of the City of London; churches, other prominent buildings (e.g. the Barbican), views of the 'Square Mile' of the City. The selection also includes images of the explosion at Silvertown in 1917 and the series of postcards, London Life. The latter dated c1910-1918 provide an excellent record of working Londoners.
The material available on the London Picture Archive is a small selection of the originals available at LMA. Some further catalogue descriptions are available on the Collections Catalogue.
