GLC poster A Free Concert at Crystal Palace Concert Bowl
Description
GLC poster advertising a free concert at Crystal Palace Concert Bowl, with performances by Orange Juice, Segun Adewale, Amazulu and Martia Prescod. Part of the London Against Racism campaign. Crystal Palace Bowl was established in 1961 and was capable of hosting upto 15000 people. In its heyday through the 1970s and 80s, it hosted the likes of Pink Floyd, The Who and Bob Marley.
It was redesigned and renamed in 1997, becoming the Crystal Palace Park Concert Platform. Following a number of years of neglect in recent times, there is hope the venue can be re-established as a concert venue. Please contact London Picture Archive to view the reverse of this poster.
