Title
"Red Indians at 2.L.O." Standing up
Description
Photograph of five Native American chiefs posing for a camera. This was likely taken during a visit to the 2LO radio station in 1924.

2LO was the second radio station to regularly broadcast in the United Kingdom (the first was 2MT). It began broadcasting on 11 May 1922, for one hour a day from Marconi House in London's Strand, opposite Somerset House. On 14 November 1922 the station was transferred to the new British Broadcasting Company which in 1923 took up the nearby Savoy Hill for its broadcasting studios, where this photograph was likely taken. On 9 March 1930 2LO was replaced by the BBC Regional Programme and the BBC National Programme.
