View of shops at 797 to 801 High Road, Tottenham, looking west. The shops include Ablett and Son, butchers at 797, Gearys Bakery at 799 and E R Smith, shoe shop at 801. The shops have two-storeys of flats above. An engraved stone tablet fixed to the red brick wall of 797 reads 'Market Place 1829' with other architectural details including gauged and semi-circular brick arches above the sash windows, some with key stones, and decorative brick features below some of the cills. The shops are now Moss hair and beauty salon, Lily White sandwich bar and First Call contract services respectively.
