Percy House in Tottenham High Road
Description
View of Percy House at 796 High Road Tottenham through the front gate, looking east. The mid-eighteenth century house was built by Sir Hugh Smithson, Duke of Northumberland, an ancestor of Sir Henry Percy whose nickname "Harry Hotspur" inspired Tottenham Hotspur’s name and its famous emblem of a fighting cock. The building and forecourt walls and railings are separately Grade II* listed, listing numbers 1079242 and 1079243 respectively. The house has been renovated with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and is now part of a community hub and the new home of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.
