Description
View of the end gable wall of a pair of derelict cottages at 1 to 2 Wood Lane, Ruislip, looking north. Piles of building debris including rubble, cast-iron drainage pipes, a corrugated iron tub, and a discarded wooden barrel can be seen in the foreground. A single-storey outbuilding can be seen on the left, along with the remains of a glasshouse in front of the chimney stack on the timber-framed gable. The cottages are located at the east end of the former Field End Farm orchard, on the junction between Wood Lane and, what is now known as, West End Road. The cottages and the farm no longer exist, having been developed with a small housing estate at Pond Green adjacent to Ruislip Rugby Club.
