Title
Houses in Queen Street
Description
Front elevation of 19 Queen Street, Mayfair. Queen Street runs north from Curzon Street to Charles Street. Part of a four-storey terrace with basements and mansard attics. Wrought-iron first-floor balcony and railings enclose the basement. A shop sign for "Mayfair-Couturier" hangs on the façade, over a shop selling lingerie and similar articles. A sign for a London and Edinburgh building company is partly visible on the corrugated iron fence surrounding the site of number 20, which was destroyed by World War II bombing. Numbers 18 and 19 still exist and the latter is Grade II listed, listing number 1265370. The site of number 20 is now occupied by a twentieth-century office and retail building.
