Description
View of entrance to Royal Arcade at 28 Old Bond Street, Mayfair. Built c1880 and Grade II listed, listing number 1266365. The arcade connects Albermarle Street with Old Bond Street and has virtually identical entrances. The entrance is three bays wide with ornate classical features. At the ground level are curved glass shop windows. Above is a large archway with a glass window with cast-iron balcony which is flanked by caryatids. The relief panels directly above the shop windows depict classical imagery with recumbent female figures and putti. The left-hand ground floor shop is to let by Hillier Parker and the right is W. Bill, with jumpers visible in the shop window.
