Description
Demolition site of 9-10 Grafton Street, City of Westminster. Grafton Street is named after the 3rd Duke of Grafton who owned and developed the land in the late eighteenth century. The road runs east to New Bond Street and south where it becomes Dover Street. The demolished buildings were originally built in 1760-1772, a large four-storey terrace with basements and later shop fronts on the ground floor, alternate buildings having canted bays. Scaffolding secures the buildings on either side, and there is debris and a small bulldozer on the site. Above a sign 'Demolition, Valori'. A modern office block with retail units on the ground floor was built on the site, which has since been redevloped.
