Title
View of Camelot Street
Description
View of Camelot Street in Tabard Estate, Elephant and Castle, with the Little Britain Alley immediately to the left. Two-storey terraced houses with attics on both sides of the street. On the corner with Amicable Row is a corner store. A woman stands in a doorway on the left and a costermonger's cart is on the street. On the right in front of a lamp post a woman pushes a pram. The Medical Office for Health Report in 1909 on this area said 'Narrowness, closeness and bad arrangements of the streets and houses and the want of air, ventilation and light are dangerous or injurious to the health of the inhabitants'. Slum clearance was slow, but this site is now Tabard Football Ground.
