Title
House in Brook Street
Description
View of a Victorian house at 23 Brook Street, Kingston-upon-Thames. To the left its neighbour is a small wooden-boarded building, the premises of Chamberlain Car Sales and Service. Adjacent is the sign for Batson and Son, Kingston Forge, Blacksmiths and Engineers, whose premises was behind the garage, out of view. Also prominent in the photograph are large advertisements for Pinta Value, milk deliveries, fish, Old Holborn tobacco and Hepworth's men's tailoring. In the background is a more modern office building. That building remains but the house, the garage, blacksmiths and the advertising hoardings have since been replaced by a modern office building named Argyll House.
