Description
School entrance hall with sparse furniture and statuary at Carshalton House, Pound Street, Carshalton. It shows the Grade II* listed Water Pavilion (listing number 1183926) and the Pound Street entrance gates (listing number 1357607). The estate was owned by a succession of wealthy individuals until 1893 when the Daughters of the Cross purchased the site for use as a school, St Philomena’s Catholic High School for girls, locally known as St Phillys. Later additions included the Grade II* listed chapel built around 1899, listing number 1065626.
