Description
Sydney Road is an estate of late-Victorian houses off Church Road in the Sheen Road conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames. This view shows the terrace of four three-storey houses at the north end of the estate, all of which are listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit. The outer pair have single-storey side entrance extensions and two-storey window bays. Number 20 appears to have painted brickwork, although this has since been removed to reveal the original yellow brick stock. The divided car ports have since be relandscaped to present a more uniform appearance, and two trees now stand in front of numbers 18 and 19. A Wisteria also adorns the full height of number 19s frontage. Also shown beyond to the left of view is part of number 22, one of a pair of three-storey with half-level basement semi-detached houses, also listed locally. Number 18 has a Ford Escort parked in its car port and an Austin 1300 and a Renault 6 can just be seen parked in number 21's.
