Description
Sydney Road is an estate of late-Victorian houses off Church Road in the Sheen Road conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames. This view shows number 15, a two-storey end of terrace house on the east side of the road, the entire terrace being listed locally as Buildings of Townscape Merit. The cornice, door, and window surrounds, appear to be in need of repainting and a modern-looking door has been fitted, since replaced with one of a more traditional style. A young Wisteria in bloom is shown growing above the ground floor window. The house has since had a two-storey extension added to the side and the front garden relandscaped and opened out to facilitate off-street parking. The front end of a Ford Cortina, parked in the street, is shown in the foreground.
