Houses in Sydney Road
Description
Sydney Road is an estate of late-Victorian houses off Church Road in the Sheen Road conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames. This view shows the east elevation of the corner house at number 36, its frontage to the south out of view, one of a terrace of four three-storey houses. Unusually, it has since retained its brick boundary wall and ornate iron railings, most others in the road having been lost to off-street parking facility. The second-floor window appears to have been moved and replaced with a smaller steel-framed window, especially noticeable when compared with number 35's neighbouring window, and the replaced brickwork is of a slightly different tone.
