Description
Front elevation of Holcombe House, The Ridgeway, Mill Hill. Grade II listed, listing number 1064845. A three-bay, two storeyed villa with a semicircular porch, fluted pilasters on the first floor and a balustraded parapet. The ground floor windows have stone arches with decorative carvings of heads at their apex. It was built in 1775-78 for Sir John Anderson, the Lord Mayor of London in 1797, by John Johnson of Leicester. In the mid-nineteenth century it became the headquarters of the Missionary Institute and is now part of the Catholic School of St Mary's Abbey. A blue Volvo 340, registration BLT 336Y, is parked and a Ford Escort with a vinyl roof next to it.
