'The Old Mill House', then 'Sugar & Spice' for 'groceries and provisions', is from 1740 and is of brick with three bays, dormers and a striking shop front at ground level. It has a single storey lean-to garage or coach house with a tiled, pitched roof. The adjoining eighteenth-century cottage, 'The Old Post Office', is of white weatherboard. The two buildings are Grade II listed, listing numbers 1359081 and 1064844. On the right is a K6 telephone box, Grade II listed, listing number 1359151. Outside is parked a Morris Minor, with no hub caps, registration BEX 143 and a Standard 8 van, belonging to C.H. Page Ltd, Hendon, 'Ironmonger and Tool Merchant' .
