Oblique view of the front elevation of the Old Post Office and The Old Mill House, The Ridgeway, Mill Hill. They are linked buildings once used as the village shop and post office. 'The Old Mill House', then 'Sugar & Spice' for 'groceries and provisions', is from 1740 and is of brick with three bays, dormers and a striking shop front at ground level. It has a single storey lean-to garage or coach house with a tiled, pitched roof. The adjoining eighteenth-century cottage, 'The Old Post Office', is of white weatherboard. The two buildings are Grade II listed, listing numbers 1359081 and 1064844. On the right is a K6 telephone box, Grade II listed, listing number 1359151. Outside is parked a Morris Minor, with no hub caps, registration BEX 143 and a Standard 8 van, belonging to C.H. Page Ltd, Hendon, 'Ironmonger and Tool Merchant' .
