Mount House in Camley Way
Description
A view of the front elevation of the Mount House in Camlet Way, Monken Hadley, Barnet. The house is viewed across a round pond, beside which are large shrubs and other planting and garden ornaments. The house has two storeys and is five windows wide under a large pediment, inside which is a bullseye window. Steps rise up to meet the door which sits under its own pediment. To the left is a rounded projecting bay of two storeys. To the right is the stable block with clock turret. A man is walking on the drive and a car is parked nearby. Used by St Martha's Convent until about 2017, the house subsequently became Mount House School. Dating from the mid eighteenth century, St Martha's Convent (The Mount House) and stable block were Grade II* listed in 1959; listing number 1359027.
