Description
View of the front elevations of a pair of semi-detached houses at 50 and 52 Gurney Drive, Hampstead Garden Suburb. The houses are an asymmetrical pair of about two storeys. Front gardens have extensive planting. To the far left is a similar pair at numbers 54 and 56. A BMC Mini car with registration number KAR381G is parked in the road. This part of Gurney Drive was designed by Philip Dalton Hepworth in 1931 in Neo-Georgian style. Gurney Drive was named after Sybella Gurney (1870-1926), who was a leader of the Housing Reform Movement and worked with Henrietta Barnett in the planning of Hampstead Garden Suburb. Dating from the 1930s, the houses still exist.
