Description
View of Arcade House, an apartment block and shop building at 788 to 800 (even) Finchley Road, Golders Green. The three-storey building has four-storey projecting gable ends with arcading on the ground-floor. The recessed central range features eight hipped dormers. Tall chimneys rise from the roof. Shops on the ground-floor include Pullens and Candy Wigs. Dating from about 1912, Arcade House was designed by Richard Barry Parker and his cousin and brother-in-law Raymond Unwin, who were important figures in the design of Hampstead Garden Suburb. It was Grade II listed in 1965, listing number 1188691.
