View of the rear of the Lesser Barn, and farmhouse beyond, of Hubbard's Farm in West Drayton Road, Colham Green, looking north. The c1500 single-storey barn, with a hipped roof and numerous peripheral brick and timber lean-to extensions, seen in a dilapidated state with missing tiles and weatherboarding, is adjacent to the two-storey rear extension of the farmhouse. A perpendicular outbuilding adjoins the barn at the southern end, right. The land outside the barn is overgrown and strewn with discarded timbers and pallets with the deconstructed gable end of a former adjacent greenhouse seen leant against the wall. The Lesser Barn would subsequently fall into ruins and, incorporating many of the original oak frames in compliance with conservation enforcement notices, was ultimately rebuilt c2016 in the original location and design using traditional oak framing enhanced with modern building methods by Castle Homes and specialist contractor, McCurdy & Co. Both the farmhouse and the adjoining outbuilding were demolished and cleared from the site to provide vehicle access. The barn (41/41a Hubbards Close) is Grade II listed, listing number 1246142.
