View of the yard at the north-east corner of Swakeleys, a substantial manor house in Swakeleys Drive, Ickenham. The seventeenth-century 'Artisan Mannerism' style mansion, along with the outbuildings to the north of the building, are Grade I listed, entries 1080295 and 1286571, respectively. The house was originally built in 1638 for the future Lord Mayor of London, Sir Edmund Wright, and was selectively restored in the 1980s after a long period of neglect. It has recently reverted to a single large residence owned by CES Properties, who are seeking to develop the 25-acre estate which includes Harrington House and Wykeham House. Dozens of crates can be seen stacked up next to the outside wall and the adjacent outbuilding, containing empties for drinks companies including Babycham, Holsten beer, R White's soft drinks, Fullers and Courage beers, and Coca Cola, all probably associated with the resident London Postal Region Sports Club. A tall step ladder marked with 'C5' and 'NPES' is leans against an outside wall.
