Description
View along Windsor Street, Uxbridge. Looking north towards the Grade II* listed St Margaret's Church (listing number 1180516), past Ind Coope's, The Metropolitan public house, and shops on both sides of the street. The pub sign at number 8 on the right features a Metropolitan Line train which terminates at the nearby, Uxbridge Station. The shops on the right includes (Peter) Millets, workwear, displaying a range of Wellington boots and work shoes. Shops on the left include Pearce, fishmonger, poultry and game dealer, Francis Elizabeth, hairdresser, and Lucas and Son, grocers (at numbers 43 and 44), Palmer and Harvey Limited, wholesale tobacconist, and a jewellers. The buildings at numbers 10 to 20, right, are Grade II listed, listing numbers 1358419, 1080140, 1284852, 1080141, and 1181759. The buildings at numbers 41 to 48, left, are Grade II listed, listing numbers 1358421, 1080103 and 1080143. Vehicles on the one-way system, travelling east past the church, include BMC Mini saloon and van, a Ford Anglia 105E, a cyclist overtaking the line of traffic, and a rider on a Honda Super Cub moped, parked at the roadside. Pedestrians can be seen on the pavement on both sides of the road, including a man on the left, apparently distracted by the young women, on the right.
