View of a pair of two-storey cottages at 1 to 2 Wood Lane, Ruislip, looking west. The semi-detached timbered farm cottages have a tiled gable roof, casement windows, and lean-to tiled-roof porches at each entrance, and a lean-to glasshouse on the left-hand side. The gardens are bounded, varyingly, by hedges and paling fences and feature a tall poplar tree partially obscuring number 1. The buildings look in questionable structural condition with subsidence evident on the right-hand side, seen with a pattress plate next to the front door, stabilising the front wall. The cottages are located at the east end of the former Field End Farm orchard, on the junction between Wood Lane and, what is now known as, West End Road. The cottages and the farm no longer exist, having been developed with a small housing estate of Pond Green adjacent to Ruislip Rugby Club.
