Description
Huntsmoor Weir in Old Mill Lane, Cowley, Uxbridge. The rear elevation of a nineteenth-century villa beside the river Colne. Built of brick, it has two storeys and a hipped slate roof. A pair of central arched, narrow windows on both the upper and lower floors are flanked by larger timber sash windows either side. The windows are framed by dense vines which conceal the majority of the brickwork. A rear wall of a small extension with lean-to roof projects from the right-hand side of the building. The villa looks out on to a well-kept lawn bordered by flower beds. Formerly known as “Yiewsley Mill House” Huntsmoor Weir now lies within the Cowley Lock conservation area of Hillingdon, and is locally listed.
