George Ellis (1900 – 85) was a professional photographer and the collection of his work held at LMA dates from the 1920s apart from about 30 which are later. The collection includes photographs of prominent people, the British Empire Exhibition of 1924, Crufts, sporting events, fire brigade practice and several weddings. Ellis moved to Bodmin, Cornwall in 1939 and worked there covering the local area and stories until his death in 1985. His photographs of Cornwall are with the Cornwall Centre.
